We were once very tired of ALL of this, but had no idea what to do. Some people go to rehab, others deny rehab and instead white-knuckle the withdrawal until they can find more drugs. Some people contemplate suicide because they are so deeply addicted that they have no idea how to beat it. You are not alone. Many people have gone through this. You can find HELP on this site. You can share and read stories about other peoples struggles that are just like yours. Most of all, you CAN beat heroin addiction.
One important aspect of fighting opiate or heroin addiction (any addiction ) is having FAITH. God created this amazing universe and all that is within it. Scientists have even used geographic places and evidence to verify that the Bible and writings within in are in fact true. God is true and God is Real. He created you and me. He knows the number of hairs on your head. If God is so majestic and powerful and only of good, then know that it is nothing for Him to help you in your time of need. All you have to do is ask and have faith. What do you have to lose?
I chose to ask God for help while I was at rock-bottom fighting opiate addiction. I had nothing left. Not just once, but several times I was so far below that I considered taking my life to end my struggles. God helped me each time. The little faith that I had was enough to keep going. If you are tired and worn out with your addiction, please try to look to God. Muster up some faith and sincerely ask God, your Creator for help. He will give it. Meditate on the Bible and the words in it if you can. If you do not have a Bible, go online and read passages from just about any biblical site.
Below is an encouraging write-up for those of us who are tired and worn-out from an addiction. Never give up hope.
Sometimes the daily pressures of life can cause unnecessary stress. In fact, many people lose sleep worrying about things or people in their lives. But God doesn’t want us to live stressed out and overwhelmed. He wants us to live a life of rest and peace.
When Jesus walked on this earth, He took time for Himself. He got away from the crowds. He spent time with the Father. That’s how He found rest. He was gentle and humble in heart.
Do you ever notice that when you are stressed out or worrying about something, you’re less tolerant of others? You’re more likely to say something you don’t really mean. Today, God wants you to cast your cares on Him and live with a gentle and humble attitude. When you release your burdens and follow the example of Jesus, you will find rest for your soul. Even something as powerful as opiate addiction can be put to rest while you gain strength. You will be rejuvenated and refreshed! You will find peace in your heart, so you can move forward in the abundant life God has for you!
|BUT, YOU HAVE TO TAKE ACTION. YOU HAVE TO TURN YOUR FAITH INTO ACTION. YOU DO THIS BY PRAYING OUT-LOUD IF POSSIBLE. BE SPECIFIC AND PRAY CONSISTENTLY. YOU HAVE TO FIGHT THIS KIND OF ADDICTION WITH PRAYER AND FAITH.
A Prayer for Today
|“Father, today I cast my cares on You. Teach me, Holy Spirit, to have a gentle and humble attitude. Help me find rest for my soul so that I can love others the way You love me in Jesus’ name. Amen.”|
